Here it is...

This brother has got it right. Thanks TMOT for reminding me of who I am... I copied the following comment from the Daily Paul... It reflects my true conviction. Sorry Alex Jones... "Four years ago the name on my ballot was Ron Paul. This coming November the name on my ballot, as yours, will be Ron Paul, and, unless someone I believe in steps forward to pick up his mantle, four years from now and each four years forward from that, if ballots still exist and elections are still held, the name on my ballot from today forward to the end of my life will be RON PAUL! God Bless You TMOT, I've got your back." John Galt

My Dream Vacation

I wrote out this short essay tonight as an example for my English class. I thought is was worth saving... My Dream Vacation For a few years, I have been thinking and planning my dream vacation, a truck camper trip across the United States. I hope it will become a reality next summer. When I was a boy, and later as a young man, I traveled from the east coast to the west coast of the United States. After that experience, I knew I wanted to take my wife and children one day. I am still waiting, though. Last year, I bought a big truck and a truck camper. I looked for a long time, and they were hard to find for an affordable price, but I found them. Unfortunately, I was not able to take my dream vacation because we had some big expenses to pay on our house (a new bathroom is very expensive!). I was very disappointed that we could not go cross-country. This summer, we will be moving to Virginia, and there will be no time for a long journey across the country. We will be too busy packing, moving, unpacking, and finding our way around in a new place. I am sad about that, but that is life. I just have to wait and be patient a little longer. Next summer, in 2013, we will have June and July off from work (It is good to be a teacher!), so we can spend the whole summer exploring places like Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, California, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. I can’t wait!

Need a Pep Talk?

After the Super Tuesday results, it looks bleak for Ron Paul winning the Republican nomination. But you know, there really is no other choice. We have to continue giving the liberty message. No matter what, do not accept "inevitablilty". We are David fighting Goliath! Go, Dr. No!!!

My kids and I had a blast voting for RP last night in our little town. We were the very last votes of 600 total votes. RP was a close 3rd, but we love him and continue the R3VOLution! I'm going to put some stickers on my car and truck tomorrow!

Religious Minorities in Clarke County, Nevada

A number of weeks ago, I met Jon Huntsman in New Hampshire a couple of days before the NH Primary. I asked him about his take on religious liberty in America. I told him that I was a Seventh-day Adventist and that as a religious minority I was concerned about the direction of some recent laws curtailing our civil liberties, like the recent NDAA (please google NDAA if you don't know what I am talking about).

Mr. Huntsman, while stating to me that he was for religious liberty both here and abroad, supports NDAA (which permits indefinite detention of American citizens without constitutional due process). So, I could not give him my vote.

In Nevada, I saw a bright sign yesterday - a special late caucus after sundown on the sabbath for Seventh-day Adventists and Orthodox Jews. That really makes me like Nevada. And just guess who they like...

Feel the love...

Where I'm Going

I first learned this song in bits and snatches in the early 90s rolling around in my yellow 1980 Ford van that I bought from my Uncle Harry. It had a wonderful 302 motor in in and lots of space for a vagabond bachelor.

Then one day, driving along Sligo Creek in Maryland, I heard it start up. I was able to quickly pull into one of the small parking lots along the creek and get out my pen and pad to get down a lot of the words, probably about 75% of them.

That was before the internet! Just a few minutes ago, I pulled down the lyrics and listened to the original version I used to hear on Family Radio.

The lyrics are down below. I hope you enjoy it. It is taking on new meaning for me in these days...

Where I'm Going - Marijohn Wilkin
I know not what my future holds,
Lord, I have no way of knowing,
But I know the One,
Who holds my future;
And I have no fear of where I'm going.

Sometimes it seems like I'm standing still,
Until I look back and see,
How deep my valleys,
How high the hills;
And each step nearer to Eternity.

Sometimes my friends misunderstand,
Cause I hear the sound of a different drummer,
But I know my life,
Is in His hands;
Just as sure as Autumn follows Summer.

I know not what my future holds,
Lord, I have no way of knowing,
But I know the One,
Who holds my future;
And I have no fear of where I'm going.
