As Shepherds on Christmas Eve 2007

As Christmas approaches this evening, my thoughts turn to the Lord's soon coming. You know, when Jesus came the first time, he did not appear to the esteemed religious leaders of the day. They were not looking for his coming.

The true searchers were simple, humble people, uneducated, by the world's standard. It was to these that the angels announced his birth. They were familiar with the ancient promises and prophecies. They immdediately knew where to go and what to do.

The other group of searchers were not even Hebrews, but nobles from heathen lands. They had heard of the great God of the Bible and had seen and followed the star wherever it lead.

Is it possible that we Christians have given up looking for Jesus' coming as most Jews had at that time so long ago? Have we become so puffed up with worldly knowledge and its ways that God can no longer reach us? Have we become deaf to His voice?

Do we disregard those that, although not of our faith or tradition still follow the star wherever it leads at any cost?

I feel that I need to refocus my spiritual life in order to prepare myself for His second coming which is certainly at the doors. The modern way of life is unsustainable, as the news clarifies daily. Most everything is falling apart.

May God help us to be as humble shepherds whose minds and senses are tuned to the natural, not the artificial. May we, like they, be ready when Jesus comes again!

America's Beloved Kooks

I recently read an article that explains the reasons millions of people literally around the world support Ron Paul and the awakening he has brought to many in this country. It is something heretofore unseen in American Politics, and absolutely so in my lifetime.



The article is entitled, Who are These Kooks? It refers to people like me who have been spreading the word about RP and a return to our Constitution. (Are you aware that we've thrown it overboard?) Kooks are people who, frankly, can no longer stomach more of the same junk we've put up with for the last century. I'm talking about the demise of America. They are working for change.

But to truly understand all this, one needs to go back and study up on ones's history. If you do, you will rediscover a land where people once worked hard, lived debt-free, were quite self-sufficient, and the government pretty much stayed out of everything.

Could we ever go back? I don't know, but the characteristics I've just described will be pretty much pre-requisites to future survival, both political and spiritual. My last post on Thanksgiving presents some of the history.

Now, if we live and vote in America, at least until the Lord returns, shouldn't we advocate what's best? I'm with the Kooks!
