My Father's Day Gift...

...to my wife!

My 1984 VW Convertible is now another car memory for me. I have so many - my 1966 VW Beetle, the 1969 Buick Skylark Convertible, my VW Bug Convertibles, and all my vans!

This convertible was great because I bought it 7 years ago for $550. I ran it and ran it, stored it almost every winter, and eventually overheated it. The headgasket blew, and well... That was it. I sold it to a local Englishman who will replace the engine and tow it behind his RV. How cool! I got $400, so not a bad deal at all.

I have great memories of running around North Orange with the top down looking at the farms and forests. Earlier in Ashbburnham, I used to fly up Route 12 and literally feel the temperature drop as I climbed higher and higher.

I would never have sold it (I learned from selling my '66 at my mom's behest), but I have a Golf, a Chevy van, and a diesel MB to deal with now! I take after my dad. He always had cars all over. In fact, one of my absolute favorite things to do is to spend quality time in a junk yard! In fact, since today is father's day, I may just do that. There is one close, too!

I am sure you can empathize with me as you watch this video. But isn't today supposed to be Father's Day? Yes, it is; however, every day is Mother's Day!

(As your car is hauled off): "Goodbye! Goodbye! Thanks for the memories, thanks for taking care of me, thanks for setting me free, thanks for getting me A to B! Goodbye!"
