AAMCO use to run a hilarious commercial with an old hillbilly (AAMCO's competitor) recounting his experience with transmissions. That is how I feel today.
Driving up to Mount Snow, Vermont last Friday, we had a little problem... We couldn't get up the hill to the main entrance because our 2002 Honda Odyssey's transmission went. That will probably cost me about $4000, and I don't have $4000. So, what can I do? That is what I am surfing the internet about now, to see what options I have, if any.
This the first time I have lost a transmission. I have replaced a clutch and even motor in the long past, but never a transmission. I can't stomach putting $4K into the car, when apparently the new or rebuilt transmission could go as well.
If you have any ideas... Let me know. Meanwhile, we are getting along with my VW and my Ford Crew Cab. We will have to see what the future holds.
